What you'll do

Accounting

  • Maintain a system of control over accounting transactions, including an orderly accounting filing system and chart of accounts.
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, both general & entity accounting as well as cost accounting.
  • Maintain a general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries including foreign exchange.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in calculating and tracking commissions in accordance with the various sales plans.
  • Ensure that accounts payables are paid in a timely manner and that accounts receivables are collected promptly.
  • Confirm that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitor and confirm the company’s financial condition by conducting audits and regularly providing information to external CPAs and auditors.
  • Provide an up-to-date status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information & trends.

Finance

  • Work closely with the MD on the development of consolidated forecasting and quarterly budgeting, translating P&L forecasts into balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Summarise company financial status by collecting information, preparing the balance sheet, profit & loss and other statements.
  • Execute and deliver all period-end financial statements and reports, provide controls to ensure proper handling and accounting for all expenses, create and monitor annual budgets.
  • Maintain and analyse recurring SaaS sales metrics based on contract bookings and revenue accrual.
  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of company (and departmental) performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results in order to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budgets and strategic plans.
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and undertake analysis of process
  • Consolidate and analyse financial data e.g., budgets, income statement forecasts considering company goals and financial standing.
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve overall financial performance.
  • Complete quarterly VAT, duty and exemption returns.
  • Deal with HMRC and related issues as and when required.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting/business administration or appropriate equivalent business experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience and responsibility.
  • Experience in a b2b SaaS company (preferred.)
  • Experience with managing processes, Financial Software (QuickBooks required,) Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analysing Information, Developing Budgets and Performance Management.
  • Qualified to ACCA/CIMA/ACA level with proven technical accounting responsibilities.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate persuasively, effectively and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills are desirable.
  • Confidentiality and discretion at all times are essential in this role.
